Carbondale Fire Open House – Carbondale & Rural Fire Protection District

Carbondale Fire Open House

Our community is very special to us, so Carbondale Fire District welcomes you to join us on October 15, 2022, from 10:00 am until 1:00 pm at the Carbondale Fire Station for our Annual Open House.

The day will be filled with food, swag giveaways, firefighting demos, tours, and there may even be a special appearance by Sparky the Fire Dog!

Did you know?

The Carbondale Fire District was founded in 1953 as an all-volunteer fire department and remained as such until 1980 when the first paid fire chief was hired to lead the organization. In 1978, the department began providing modern ambulance service with volunteer EMT-basics and then the Colorado EMT-Intermediate certification program was institutionalized in the early 80’s.

Over the years, the ever-increasing demand, and expectations of the public for advanced level emergency services has driven the need for more career fire fighter positions within the district. All District operations are managed by a professional, career Deputy Chief who oversees operations. Currently, the District supports 25 full time positions and 40 volunteer firefighters and EMTs.

Throughout our history, we’ve maintained the culture of “The Volunteer Spirit” and heavily depend on our community volunteers to deliver a high level of fire protection and emergency medical services to the community.

We hope that you will come and join us on October 15, 2022, so that we can express our gratitude for the continued community support. We wouldn’t be where we are today without it! Please keep an eye on our social media channels for updates on this open house event. As always, if you have any questions or would like more information, please reach out to your friends at the Carbondale Fire District.
