Carbondale & Rural Fire Protection District has sent a brush truck and crew to assist at the Bendire Complex Fire near Vale, Oregon.
On August 11, 2015, the United States Forest Services Dispatch requested assistance from Colorado crews, including one from Carbondale Fire, to respond to fires on in the Northwest of the United States. There are numerous wildfires burning in the Northern California/Oregon area. Due to the current low wildfire danger, the District was able to send a crew and brush truck to help.

After a wet spring, weeds have grown tall and could make it hard for firefighters to find fire hydrants during an emergency. Carbondale & Rural Fire Protection District is asking residents to look for their nearest fire hydrant and remove any weeds around it so firefighters can easily gain access if needed.
Carbondale & Rural Fire Protection District suggests clearing at least three feet around the hydrant for easy access for firefighters. The simple act of cutting back weeds around a hydrant could make a difference.

Thanks to the 12 Roaring Fork High School Rams who spent the day with us at the fire house!
According to the Post Independent:
“Roaring Fork High School’s entire student body took a break from school Thursday to serve their community as part of the annual Rams Day.
Groups of students helped out at other area schools, did some spring cleaning and performed random acts of kindness around town. In the afternoon, they were rewarded with games and competitions back at the high school.
